The Galley of Lorne Inn is now into its tenth year of music festivals, the last eight of which have
been under the guise of ‘The Galley Gig Fest’. Each year in July and August we hold Ardfern’s
equivalent to Belladrum and T in the Park, but unfortunately without the same size crowds.
Nonetheless, The Galley Gig Fest is right on the map as the place to be to see some of the best pub
and club artists on the circuit in Scotland.
This year the festival runs from 15th July to 20th August with 12 gigs over 6 weekends every Friday

Having had some amazing nights, there are far too many great nights of music to recount. However,
there is one night that will always stick in our minds, the first time ‘The Mad Ferret Band’ came to
town. Having became aware of them through a contact, I soon knew that this duo was a must have.
Known to be one of the best acts on the circuits, they have also become well known for showcasing
their unique brand of music via their ‘Cellar Sessions’, and the Galley of Lorne Inn was proud to be
added to this tradition on their first visit to The Galley. 2:00am in the morning they were filming
their cellar session. By the next afternoon it was live on Youtube. Have a look and see why music is
such a special part of our year’s activities.
So why not come along and catch one of the bands / artists between 9:00pm and 1:00am on 15th, 16th, 23rd, 24th, 29th and 30th July and on 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th August 2016.
